Flooding from highways
Flooding caused by overflowing drains or gullies within the highway network managed by Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council should be reported to the Highways Department on the contact details below:

Flooding from rivers
'Main rivers'
Natural Resources Wales is responsible for managing flooding from larger rivers, called 'main rivers'. Within Blaenau Gwent these are:
- Sirhowy River
- Ebbw River
- Ebbw Fach River
Flooding from 'main rivers' should be reported to Natural Resources Wales or telephone the incident hotline.

Other rivers
Smaller watercourses, not classified as 'main rivers' fall under the responsibility of Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council. Please contact us at 01495 311556.
Flooding from a public sewer, a burst water main or water service pipe
Flooding from these sources should be reported to:
Dwr Cymru Welsh Water or 0800 0853968 (24-hour)
Flooding from all other sources
Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council is responsible for managing the risk arising from flooding from surface water, groundwater and ordinary watercourses (smaller watercourses and ditches).
