Blaenau Gwent Community Hubs
The hubs are located centrally in local libraries managed by Aneurin Leisure Trust and provide advice and information on a range of Council services.
Saturday Opening trial dates
Three libraries in Blaenau Gwent will open on a Saturday morning to support those residents who may find it difficult to visit the service during the week.
Ebbw Vale library Saturday 25th February,
Tredegar library Saturday 25th March
Abertillery library Saturday 29th April.
The opening hours at each venue will be 9.30am to 12.30pm
Citizens Advice
Citizens Advice are providing a weekly service in the Community Hubs 9.30am – 12.30pm on the following days:
Mondays – Tredegar library
Tuesdays – Ebbw Vale library
Wednesdays - Abertillery library
Thursdays – Blaina library
Fridays – Cwm library

In Cwm the service will operate from Cwm library every Thursday from 9.30am until 5.00pm. Closed for lunch 1pm – 2pm.
At Llanhilleth Institute the service will be available every Wednesday from 10.00am until 5.00pm. Closed for lunch 1pm – 2pm.
In Blaina Library the service will be available every Monday from 9.30am until 5.00pm. Closed for lunch 1pm – 2pm.
Services Available:
- Council Tax and Non-Domestic rates information and advice.
- Benefits information and advice including Universal Credit, Council Tax reduction, free school meals, school clothing grants and benefit overpayments.
- Apply for a Blue Badge.
- Make bulky waste bookings, get waste/recycling timetables, make a booking at a HWRC site and order new recycling receptacles.
- Pick up waste bags - including dog waste, food waste and hygiene waste.
