Surface Water
Flooding from surface water happens when the local drainage system cannot cope with the rainfall.
Weather warnings are available on the Met Office website, these include rainfall warnings.
You should make yourself aware of any assets such as drainage culverts, ditches, ponds, grids or brooks that could cause flooding to your property, should they become blocked. If safe to do so an inspection of these assets should be made before any anticipated heavy rainfall so that concerns can be reported and dealt with before an incident can occur.
You should also monitor weather forecasts and take appropriate measures as required.
