TEMPORARY changes to the Gwent Carers Small Grant Scheme

Very recently the Carers Trust South East Wales have been allocated funding via Welsh Government Carers Support

Fund to provide grants for carers. Some examples of eligible items and activities carers can apply for from this fund include, but are not limited to:

  • Purchase of household items e.g. washing machine, bed or fridge etc.
  • Assistance with the purchase of food
  • Purchase of technology e.g. laptop, mobile phones, tablets or data
  • Entertainment subscriptions e.g. Audible, Amazon Prime, gaming, Netflix etc.

All goods and services must be able to be purchased via a voucher or store credit scheme. Carers Trust South East Wales and Welsh Government reserve the right to request receipts for the item that has been purchased.

s a result of this fund now being available and some cross over in grant types between the Gwent Small Grants Scheme and the Carers Support Fund, the Gwent Carers Strategic Board agreed to make some temporary changes as follows:

Please note: From December 2020 to April 2021 grants for the Carers Access and Carers Skills elements of the Gwent Small Grants Scheme (highlighted below) are currently open. Grants for Carers Essentials and Carers Time Out are being processed via the Carers Support Fund

Carers living in Gwent can still apply for the following via the Gwent Small Grants Scheme:
