Energizer Holdings will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its U.K. auto care products manufacturing site this week. Located in Ebbw Vale, the facility was established in 1997 as STP Products, later becoming Armor All Products in 2001. In 2019, Energizer Holdings, one of the world’s largest manufacturers and distributors of primary batteries, portable lights, and auto care appearance, performance, refrigerant, and fragrance products including the Energizer, Eveready, Rayovac and VARTA brands, acquired the business.
The plant employs nearly 50 skilled staff and produces more than 700 automotive fragrance and appearance products ranging from fuel additives, to car wash products which are sold in 43 different counties.
The company works closely with the Welsh government and has benefited from its Flexible Skills Support program to expand the skills of its colleagues. Leadership at the facility also has strong established links with the Valleys Innovation Showcase for Technological Advancement (VISTA), where they share best practices with other local employers, and Coleg Gwent through which they promote opportunities at Energizer. The company is proud to represent its global brands within the South Wales Valley as it celebrates this milestone in the plant’s history.
Blaenau Gwent Councillor John C Morgan, Executive Member - Place and Regeneration says:
