Local Government and Community Council elections will take place in Wales in May 2022.
In Blaenau Gwent, there will be elections for 33 county councillors and 69 community and town councillors.

Details of which elections will be taking place in your area, and which candidates are standing, will be available on our website from 6 April 2022.
Who can vote?
Any Blaenau Gwent resident aged 16 or over can vote in these elections. Foreign nationals with permission to be here can also vote.
Only people registered on the electoral register can vote. You must be registered by 14th April 2022 to vote in the elections in May. You can register online at www.gov.uk/registertovote.

When will I know the result?
The counting of the votes will take place on Friday 6 May 2022. Throughout the afternoon and evening of the 6 May 2022 the election results will be available on the Council website for you to see the results and who your new councillors are.

Candidates wishing to stand for election need to submit nomination papers to the Returning Officer from Monday 21 March until 4pm on Tuesday 5 April 2022.
