Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council is deeply saddened about the recent fire incident at Ron Skinner and Sons car dealership in Tredegar.
The fire, which occurred in the early hours of August 17th 2024, has caused significant damage to the building and some vehicles. Fortunately, there were no fatalities or casualties, and the issues were contained on site.
The dealership is a large employer in the area, providing over 150 jobs.
Leader of the Council Stephen Thomas says:

“Our thanks go to all of the emergency services for their swift and immediate actions including Civil Contingencies, South Wales Fire and Rescue, Gwent Police, Parc Bryn Bach and Aneurin Leisure Trust who worked tirelessly over the weekend.”

The Council is prioritising support for the business and its employees during this challenging time and will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as necessary.
