The Wales Safeguarding Procedures for children and adults at risk of abuse and neglect are the national procedures. They detail the essential roles and responsibilities for practitioners to ensure that they safeguard children and adults who are at risk of abuse and neglect.
The Procedures help practitioners apply the legislation in the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014 and statutory safeguarding guidance, Working Together to Safeguard People.

This national guidance is intended for all those working with children and young people in an education setting or related agency who would benefit from understanding the process and expectations for safeguarding in schools, and the wider system.
The document contains guidance for local authorities and governing bodies on arrangements for safeguarding children under the Education Act 2002. The guidance relates directly to the safeguarding procedures and duties under the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014.
