Thinqi

An innovative platform, ensuring simplified access to relevant learning content, including all essential learning.

Getting started

Welcome to the brand-new Learner Experience Platform and Learning Management System (LXP-LMS) called Thinqi (“Think-e”).

We have been working in partnership with other local authorities to develop this innovative platform, ensuring simplified access to relevant learning content, including all essential learning.

Thinqi will be rolled out to all departments early in 2025, so keep an eye out for more updates, including training sessions and resources to get you started.

If you have completed e-learning with us previously you will have set up a Learning@Wales account.  This will be deactivated as we move over to the new Thinqi system.

Thinqi will become our one stop shop for all learning opportunities.  Through Thinqi you will be able to access self paced, engaging e-learning across a range of mandatory and professional development topics.  In time you will also be able to book onto in-person events.  Thinqi will keep all your training and learning, including your own CPD record, in one place allowing for quick and simple tracking of your training needs and development.

You can log into Thinqi here:

You can also access Thinqi via the Intranet here:

If you have any issues accessing the system or would like to provide some feedback please complete our feedback form

Logging In

If you have a work email address and you’re logged on to a Council device, you can log in using the single sign on button.

To connect from any other device at home or work you will need to enter your email address.  This email address can be either your works email or your personal email address that is saved in My Info Employee Self Service (ESS).

To check your email address is up to date please sign into ESS.  It is this email address that will be your username for Thinqi.

To sign in for the first time you will need to select the ‘Forgotten your Password?’ link.  This will prompt you to choose a new password and access the site.

Badges

When you complete an item you will receive a badge that you can view in your Learner Record.  Essential learning badges are assigned automatically to us all.  You will receive emails reminding you to complete these.  You can also view deadlines in the planner view as well as the due next section of the dashboard.

Grey badges appear in your My Learning Record area when you’ve not yet completed a badge that either has been automatically assigned to you, your manager has enrolled you upon, or that you have signed up for by using the Start Badge option.  Blue badges are badges you have completed.

Red badges are overarching badges.  That means you need to complete several other badges to achieve that badge.  For instance, you will receive a red Essential Learning badge when you complete the suite of Essential Learning Badges.

Essential Learning

As part of the Council’s commitment to provide training to all staff, we have identified key eLearning modules that every employee needs to complete.

It is therefore important that you complete these modules to enhance your knowledge and skills and raise your awareness of the following:

  • New Employee Induction
  • Behavioural Standards in the Workplace
  • Cyber Awareness
  • Equalities
  • Introduction to Data Protection
  • Introduction to Local Government
  • Mental Health in the Workplace
  • Understanding Autism
  • Group A Safeguarding
  • Armed Forces Covenant Induction
  • Violence against women, domestic abuse, and sexual violence
  • Welsh language Awareness

Bilingual System

Thinqi is a bilingual Learning Management System, and you can change your language preference once you have logged on.  This includes how you wish to receive emails through the system.  Where possible, learning will also be available through the medium of Welsh.

To change your language preferences for emails from Thinqi:

  • Go to your Learner profile (under your name at the top right of the screen)
  • Click on the settings cog icon (in the top right of the screen)
  • Select Preferences
