(Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and On-Street Parking Places (Civil Parking Enforcement And Consolidation Order 2019 (Amendment No. 21)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council propose that in accordance with the Local Authorities Traffic Order (Procedure) (England & Wales) Regulations 1996 and the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”), as amended, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Act, and The Traffic Management Act 2004 (the ‘2004’ Act) and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police, to make the above Order, and to amend the restrictions on the following roads as outlined below and in the schedule:

1.       The Council proposes to make Amendment Order No. 21 which shall have the general effect of amending the Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council (Various Roads) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and On-Street Parking Places) Consolidation Order 2019 (“the Consolidation Order”). The council considers that the Order to increase the availability of on-street disabled person parking places will provide Blue Badge holders with additional accessible parking on Church Street, Abertillery.

2. The effects of the Order will be to extend the existing on-street Disabled Person Parking Places within Abertillery Town Centre to create additional Disabled Blue Badge Holders Only bays as specified on map schedule Z43C.

Full details of these proposals are in the draft Order which, together with a plan showing the restricted area and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order are available on the Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council website and will be so until the expiration date of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published. If you wish to object to the proposed Order you should send the grounds for your objection in writing to the undersigned by 5 March 2026.
