Day Service Provision

In Blaenau Gwent, we believe that people who use social services are individuals who have the right to decide how they spend each day.

We currently provide a range of Community Options that run at our Day Centres. They provide essential support, company and maybe a change for service users to develop new interests. The service currently provides support and assisted care for service users who have; Learning/Physical disabilities and Mental Health illnesses.

Our Community Options programme offers employment training schemes, educational opportunities, leisure, sports and social activities.

All services provided are flexible outcome focussed services that are person centred, enabling people to exercise their rights and actively participate in their community.

For those service users with high level needs we also have a Community Support Team, which can offer one to one and two to one support to help people engage in the activities they choose.

The Community Support service is specialised in Positive Behaviours Management and support individuals with behaviours that challenge to:-

  • Access community based activities and opportunities.
  • Promote independence and support to achieve their desired goals

Through this page you can find out some of the Community Options activities that our service users are currently enjoying.
