Pass Plus Cymru Course Really Pays Off

The latest winner of the Pass Plus Cymru quarterly prize draw was Logan Davies, from Abertillery, Blaenau Gwent.

Logan was randomly selected by Road Safety Wales, and he was delighted to have won.

Logan received £250, after completing and returning his evaluation questionnaire about the Pass Plus Cymru course.

Logan attended the practical part of the Pass Plus Cymru course at Tredegar Fire Station at the end of summer 2018 and completed his driving element of the course shortly after.  The practical element of the course is led by Road Safety Officers from Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council with the driving element supported by the Driving Standards Agency.

The course is designed to develop techniques, widen experience, enable candidates to gain confidence and increase awareness of hazards they may encounter whilst driving. Logan paid £20 towards the course with the remaining course costs being funded by a local authority grant from Welsh Government. The course is open to all drivers living in Wales aged 17 – 25.

Deputy Leader, Councillor Garth Collier was honored to presented Logan with his cheque, and said, “What a great course Pass Plus Cymru is and to be able to receive the additional driving experience for just £20 this is excellent value for money, we would like to welcome more young drivers onto the course in order to gain valuable experience and become more aware of their surroundings and hazards when driving in order to help make them safer drivers”.

Logan said, “I was thrilled when I won the prize money, I forgot all about it so it was good news when I received it, I attended the course to lower my car insurance, which I was able to do and gained experience of driving on the motorways and on rural roads”.  Logan plans on using the money towards maintaining his car or maybe towards a holiday.
