Have your say on Blaenau Gwent’s active travel plans

And now as part of a consultation Blaenau Gwent Council wants to know where you think improvements could be made to the existing Active Travel network and where new routes could potentially be added.

As part of the Active Travel (Wales) Act 2013, local authorities are required to map their existing routes and illustrate where improvements and new routes can be added as part of its Integrated Network Map (INM).

he consultation for Blaenau Gwent will run for 12 weeks giving local people the opportunity to comment on the INM and make suggestions that could help shape the area’s future active travel provision.

You can find more information on the Council’s website www.blaenau-gwent.gov.uk

There are a number of ways to get involved in the consultation. You can look at the routes online and provide feedback using the online questionnaire on areas for improvement or by proposing new routes or enhancements to existing routes.

At the end of the engagement period the Council will analyse the results and ensure these are considered in drafting the final plan that will be submitted to Welsh Government in August 2018.

If accepted, it is hoped that Blaenau Gwent will acquire Local Transport Fund monies to develop and design elements of the INM, for future implementation.
