Firework Displays - Get Registered, Stay Safe!

Every year across the UK avoidable accidents occur during fireworks events which can result in serious injury to both those attending and those organising and running the event. Some of these incidents have even proved fatal. This free scheme covers organised events of all sizes and is designed to try and ensure that everyone has a happy, accident free event. Officers from the Council will offer pre-event guidance to those planning and running displays in the county borough and will visit both before and during the event.

For more information on the registration scheme contact the Councils contact centre (C2BG) on 01495 311556 and ask to be directed to Environmental Health.

Councillor Wayne Hodgins, Chair of Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council Licensing Committee says:

“Our Environmental Health Staff are trained in firework safety and can offer help and advice to firework event organisers in the run up to the display and visit on the night itself. To do this we need to be aware that an event is taking place so please get in touch to register your fireworks event.”
