Firework Displays

Bonfire night is approaching and Blaenau Gwent council are asking organisers of fireworks displays to register their event with its Environmental Health Team.

Every year across the UK avoidable accidents occur during fireworks events which can result in serious injury to both those attending and organising an event. This free scheme covers organised events of all sizes and will help ensure that everyone has a happy, accident free evening.

Officers from the council will offer pre-event guidance to those planning and running displays in the county borough and may visit both before and during the event. For more information on the registration scheme contact us on 01495 357813.

Councillor Garth Collier, Deputy Leader of Blaenau Gwent Council added:

“Where fireworks are concerned safety is paramount and our environmental health staff are trained to assist organisers of firework display. They offer help and advice to firework event organisers in the run up to their displays and often visit on the night of the event. To do this they need to be aware that an event is taking place, so please get in touch to register and stay safe”.
