An Equal World is an Enabled World.
“International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of Women. The day also marks a call to action for moving towards gender parity” - International Women’s Day website.
Blaina ICC held their own celebrations in the reception and starfish room with information boards about inspiring young girls, women and characters who have strived for change and equality, past and present. We would like to thank all those who came to support the campaign ‘An Equal World is an Enabled World’ and have their picture taken with one of our selfie boards.
All staff; both men and women; were invited to attend a coffee hour on Sunday 8th between 12.45pm – 2pm at the training room where they enjoyed pastries and fruit and time to chat and celebrate all the strong women and progressive men within our society and workplace.
A taster Pilates session also took place that enabled staff to take a moment out from their busy lives. It can be easy to rush through life without stopping to notice the world around us. It's also easy to lose touch with the way our bodies are feeling and to end up living 'in our heads'. It can be a way to reflect on our own wellbeing journey by paying more attention to the present moment – to our own thoughts and feelings, and to the world around us that can improve our mental wellbeing.
