Blaenau Gwent celebrates Youth Work Week 2018 – June 23 to 30

This is an annual event that provides youth workers and young people with the opportunity to celebrate the achievements and impacts of youth work.

It is an opportunity to show that there is more to youth work than just youth clubs. In Blaenau Gwent the Youth Service supports young people aged 11-24, through youth workers in schools, youth centres, in communities and on the streets, providing a chance to get involved, to overcome barriers, transition support and help young people get ready for training and employment; other things include the Duke of Edinburgh scheme; delivering accredited training including sexual health and relationships, Positive Futures anti-social behaviour projects, the BYG Editorial group and website, Young Reps volunteering programme, Youth Service Ambassadors group, Open 4 Youth Nights, summer holiday programmes, Football Fridays and much more!

All Youth Clubs will be open and free of charge to celebrate the week. These are at:

• Abertillery Youth Centre – Wednesday & Thursday, 6pm - 8pm
• Cwm Youth Club (Cwm Youth Centre) – Monday & Wednesday, 6pm - 8pm
• Hilltop Log Cabin, Ebbw Vale - Monday 5.30pm - 7.30pm & Wednesday 7.30pm – 9.30pm
