LET’S TALK2GETHER ABOUT THE PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSING RENEWAL POLICY 2025 – 2030
The Council is seeking views on the proposed Private Sector Housing Renewal Policy 2025-2030.
The Policy details how the Council delivers financial assistance to help private homeowners (including Private Sector Landlords) to repair, maintain or adapt their homes. It also provides information on the Council’s approach to improving the energy efficiency of private sector homes.
Whilst the responsibility for the maintenance and improvement of homes lies with the private sector owner, the Council recognises that some people will not have the resources necessary and has a key role to play for those without finance to pay and will make the best use of available funds to improve the quality of housing and thereby the quality of life of occupiers using the various forms of assistance that are available.
The forms of financial assistance outlined in the policy will be governed by the annual revenue and capital budgets set by the Council and other relevant funding streams.
